Joel’s Glass
I gather glass of molten sand balanced at the end of a silent iron flute. A silent flute whose wind will widen the inner void, while outer walls they bulge – gently – not to destroy! Invisible inside the hot and liquid mass, Until I let it cool, you glimpse inside the glass. Transparant walls that hold the sky, the sun, the sea – crimson poppy fields, birds, butterflies and trees. Transparant walls that hold fields of golden rape – Streams and brooks with trout such colors …...and shapes! As in my dreams they bloom within the cool glass walls, and if the glass should fall - shatter on the ground In corners of the room the shards hold my intent, though broken can’t prevent, still beautiful when found! …...the beauty of the glass.... …...the beauty of the glass.... poem: Birthe N. All the pretty ornaments round and shiny represent fruits that soon again will grow when the sun regains its glow When the world turns green again and the songs of finch and wren blend in joyful melody we will join the harmony, iris, lily, peony iris, lily, peony iris, lily, peony ..................peony! All together we will sing in a chorus praising spring. take my hand and dance with me round a blooming apple tree. poem: Birthe N.
